Yet Another FairTax Fan

Responding to Joshua’s call for contributors to this site, I dropped him an email and offered a post or two per week. He gladly welcomed my participation so here I am.

I’ll give you a little background about myself here, but promise to remain brief so as not to bore you death after all, you came to this site to read about The FairTax not some about some guy posting to this site.

I grew up in south Florida and left home for college in Philadelphia. After graduating from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics (major of Information Systems), I headed out west to Silicon Valley where I lived and worked for a large public company servicing the healthcare industry. I am currently a software architect for a small private company also servicing the healthcare industry in Nashville, TN.

My passion for tax reform and more specifically The FairTax flavor of consumption tax is driven for 3 main reasons:

  1. Freedom - Not only do I want to pay my taxes when I want to via purchases, but I want to be able to pay them anonymously (or as close to it as possible).
  2. Growth - Personal and Corporate Income Taxes are an anathema to real economic growth (look for future posts from me dealing specifically with this topic).
  3. Control - I want to decide what to do with my paycheck, rather than have the government take what they want before my earnings even reach me.
