Just How Popular is the FairTax?
Over the next few months, it may be interesting to try and find objective measures of how popular the FairTax is becoming.
One such metric would be the number of times people search for the relevant keywords (fairtax, fair tax, etc.) during any given month. Overture’s Keyword Selector Tool offers a handy way of measuring this statistic.
Their database does not include all searches conducted; in particular, it does not include the 60% or so of searches that are conducted through Google. But if I’m not mistaken, it measures almost everything else, which means that if you multiply their number by two, you should have a reasonably accurate count of the number of searches that have been conducted during the past month.
In any case, here are Overture’s current metrics for the estimated number of times these terms were searched on last month (July, presumably).
fair tax – 1898 searches
fairtax – 925 searches
fair tax book – 180 searches
fairtax book – 77 searches
I’ll post periodic updates as the new statistics become available each month.

As more information gets out, there are two things that will gain in popularity. One is the Fair Tax that will get government off our backs, and Bio Fuel which will make our need for middle eastern fuel a bad memory. The country will boom, our soldiers will come home and our citizens will no longer be slaves to politicians and oil moguls. WHAT A CONCEPT!!!
