Maximizing Choice in Taxation

Do you want to maximize your choice when it comes to taxation? If so the Fair Tax Plan is for you. My name is Henry Imler from hundiejo.com. I am honored to have been asked to contribute. I am very enthusiastic about a national retail sales tax and want to help people become as familar with the ins and outs of it as possible. That way, when it is demogauged in the press and political conversation, they can sort out the myth from the truth.

Most objections to the The Fair Tax Plan are as follows1:

  1. A large sales tax increase would drive more industries into the black market and create more under-the-table deals.
  2. The rate of 23% is misleading
  3. The rate of 23% is way too low.
  4. Non-profits would not be funded at the same levels
  5. A NST would be a regressive tax policy.

After doing alot of reading over the last few months on the topic, I have to disagree with these objections. In the coming days, weeks, posts, I will be taking a look at each of above. While they are very valid concerns, are they sound? That is the question I will seek to answer.
