It is imperative that the U.S. abolish the income tax and go to the consumption tax, the Fair Tax. Hurricane Katrina is going to cost 65 or 70 billion dollars. The Fair Tax will give all of us working people our full pay checks. We can no longer afford giving 33 dollars out of every hundred we earn to the federal government. the 11 trillion dollars stored in offshore banks overseas can come home at last. The 100 or so largest corporations can build their next plant in the United States. We must get competitive with the rest of the world NOW. Lets bring home the 14 million jobs that have left our country according to Dr. Pat Choate, a noted economist. With the Fair Tax in place we can rebuild the ravaged states so horribly damaged by Katrina. My cousins beautiful home was on the beach at Pass Christian Mississippi. All that is left is the foundation. For far to long we have allowed the self serving powers to be in charge of our lives. Set us free.
