I fully support the fair tax.
It’s about time we took charge of our money earned. And to support the Government, we will pay as we spend.
Let us remember, Freedom was obtained by fighting and rebelling against a Goverment (England) mainly due to unfair taxation. Is it time to repeat the same.

It was religious persecution that drove them out not taxes.
The income tax started out as a single rate (flat) tax. Under the power of government and isolated from the People, it gradually grew into an oversized, complex mess, with numerous loopholes, multiple brackets and high rates. In 1986, the tax code was overhauled, simplified and reduced down to two brackets. Many deductions and loopholes were eliminated. Today, we have six brackets, and most of the loopholes are back. This demonstrates twice over how a flat tax simply won’t stay flat. The reason is simple: Congress makes the laws. Precedents have been set. Lobbyists procure tax breaks for special interests and have more access to Congressmen than We the People have. Each tax break complicates the tax code just a little more, and they add up.
A flat tax is still income tax, counter-constitutional and contrary to the founders’ vision. The income tax was made possible only after self-serving politicians did an end run around the Constitution in 1913 and took powers for themselves that the Constitution denied them.
Income tax in any form is unacceptable and delusional. It’s time to scrap the entire tax code once and for all and replace it with the FairTax.
As a small business operator with about a dozen employees (several in differing states) our present income tax is an annual fiasco. My wife and I spend a full week, at least, getting the filings done and making sure everyone is in compliance — and that’s with a very good accountant. Not to mention the rest of the time this burdensome system demands throughout the rest of the year. Good Grief, dump the IRS system and adopt the Fair Tax!
I favor the fair tax since it leaves the taxpayer in control of his share of taxes based on his purchases. However I do not want to see various tax rates established based on the product or service being purchased i.e. cigarettes, liquor, etc… You know, sin tax. If congress is not forced to keep the tax rate the same for all, the new system will function just like the present one does with various tax brackets. It will be used as an incentive or coercively by politicians to garner votes and threaten opponents just like the present system is.
There would be no need to do this through the FairTax. We keep the excise tax, which is how they do that today.
In my quest to see what Huckabee & his Republican buddies were up to came across a website devoted to comparing the two big tax models, and the FairTax appears to take a backseat to the FLAT TAX……stay with me here. If you want to truely be fair to all, this is the way to go. It really does make sense to me to apply the same tax rate to everyone @ a rate of 17% above the Federal Poverty Level. Think about it…no rebate checks, one simple tax formula on all PERSONAL INCOME earned above the Poverty Level (no regressive comsumption taxing here). I’m not sure why American’s are stupid enough to fall for these ‘pretty in pink’ named phrases like “FairTax”.
-Please give it a “FLAT” shake, read the info from the site below and tell me it doesn’t beat the FiarTax or the “current system”. Take note of the various graphs on actual tax rate for the different wage groups and you decide who is bearing the burden on the “Fair Tax” system. Be aware that there are several 17% Flat Tax ideas out there, but this one sets itself apart and is explained well to boot.

the fair tax is what the founding fathers visioned and is found to be the best way to FAIRLY tax the people. The current law is inafficent and totally unreasinable and unfair to everybody!
