Texas Hits Grand Slam for the Fair Tax
Senator John Cornyn (R) from Texas moves from a scorecard rating of “Will Not Commit†to “Official Cosponsor†of the Fair Tax Act of 2005 (S.25). This is the second Senator to stand up with Senator Saxby Chambliss (R, GA) to support replacement of the current federal income tax system. The Texas Senator joins Senator Tom Coburn (R, OK) who became a cosponsor in September of last year. Three down, forty-eight to go.
The House of Representatives has added 15 cosponsors to the House version of the Fair Tax Act of 2005 (H.R. 25) since September. An additional 165 Representatives are needed in the house to insure passage of this important legislation.
