Fair Tax re-introduced in 2007!

The Fair Tax Act of 2007 has now been introduced!

Click here to learn all about it!

The bill is still HR 25, but so far as I know it is not searchable yet on the Internet.

I still have plenty of the 2005 version to blog, so I guess I’ll continue with it.

The fairtax.org folks have mentioned to me that some revisions have been made, most notably a sunset provision. They say that there will be a provision to scrap the FairTax and return to the old income tax after 5 years unless the 16th amendment is repealed (this is something Rep. Linder has mentioned a few times).

What do you guys think about that?

Edit: Link fixed. My bad.

  3. Sounds great, except for the 23%, and the idea that we want the government as in control as they are now with all that money. If they got rid of pointless programs and made schools a public affair instead of the governments, we would have less of a need for such a high percentage. I know many teachers, principles etc of schools that tell me that they believe each school could run on 3 times less of a budget than they do, while paying the teachers better than they do now, and have a more efficient way of educating the masses. This is one of many programs which money is not delegated like a business would do it, wasting money, and doing a poor job of implementing things.
